Sustainability governance has become a strategic issue dominating the global agenda, including in the ASEAN region. Sustainability governance is a holistic approach that integrates environmental, social, and governance (ESG) aspects into organizational strategies and operations. Its objective is to create a balance between achieving business performance, regulatory compliance, and responsibility toward society and the environment.
In response to global demands, ASEAN continues to strive to adopt sustainability governance as part of its regional development strategy. This trend is evident in the growing attention to ESG frameworks across various sectors, ranging from business to public policy. In this context, accountants and governance practitioners play a strategic role in integrating sustainability principles into decision-making processes, establishing transparent reporting systems, and promoting accountability across all sectors.
The Accounting Study Program Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI), in collaboration with Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) and Universitas Trisakti proudly presents the “International Conference ASEAN Sustainability Governance 2024”. This virtual event aims to promote sustainability governance across ASEAN, advancing knowledge and fostering collaboration among academics, practitioners, and researchers.

The event is scheduled from 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM (GMT+7) via Zoom featuring insightful discussions on sustainability governance. Attended by more than 250 participants from many of universities and institutes local and overseas, this conference was opened formally by the Dean of Faculty of Economics and Business Education Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia, Prof. Dr. H. Eeng Ahman, M. S. The conference provides a platform to address pressing challenges and opportunities in governance and sustainability within ASEAN and beyond.
